PSA Ad: Alcohol Awareness

Public Service Announcement

I really enjoyed designing this project. I utilized many design features and techniques during the process. I placed a red solo cup in the center of the page because I feel as though this is a popular image for those who drink. I previously learned that the lines on a solo cup are actually measurement marks, as seen in my design. I believe that my design fits the PSA because I included questions on the design about alcohol abuse as well as a prime image that includes marks to measure how much you drink. This raises a lot of awareness about drinking moderately, because I believe it is difficult and impossible to completely prevent underage drinking or alcohol abuse, but to advocate moderation is a great idea.

I placed the red solo cup image from Google, rasterized it, then used the magnetic lasso tool to isolate just the cup and rid of the white background that came with the image. For certain texts, I used the tracking and kearning tools to make it easier to read, especially with know your limits. I decided to make the text for know your limits look like a liquid being pouring into the cup. I thought this idea was really interesting and visually appealing. I had a bit of trouble placing the rulers exactly where they needed to be placed, but I think it worked out well. I enjoyed creating this PSA flyer.
